I believe he was MVP of the tourney at the 15 age group.....he is an excellent prospect who I consider to be the #1 recruit in Ohio in the 2011 class.

Yeah he was...And I agree about him being the best recruit...There are some other names like Stevie Taylor and the kid from Garraway (name escapes me right now) that have been thrown out, but they aren't in the same league as Behanan right now...

he may also not grow an inch. thats why chane needs to work on refining his game. just like very kid really.

Aiken basketball star Chane Behanan, the No. 1-rated sophomore player in Ohio, has given an oral commitment to the University of Cincinnati.
Behanan, a 6-foot-6, 230-pound forward, is rated tops among Ohio sophomores (Class of 2011) by Ohio High Magazine. Behanan averaged 20.2 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.3 steals a game for the Aiken varsity last season. He was first-team Enquirer Division I all-area and all-Cincinnati Metro Athletic Conference.
Behanan said he had been offered scholarships by UC, Xavier, West Virginia, Ohio State, Georgetown and Purdue. Behanan said he had developed a good rapport with UC head coach Mick Cronin and assistant coach Tony Stubblefield.
"I want to represent my city, where I'm from," Behanan said. "I wanted to stay close to home."

I'm a little surprised he only averaged 5.6 boards last season. For a 6'6 230 lb powerful kid I would have guessed well over 10 at the h.s. level when he avg 20 pts. Does he play a lot of wing and away from the inside?

Behanan adjusting to like in Bluegrass

The state's newest highly-regarded basketball prospect - Chane Behanan - is getting used to life in Kentucky after transferring from Cincinnati Aiken to Bowling Green.

The 6-foot-7 , 230-pound Behanan has already committed to Cincinnati and is considered a top-100 prospect in the Class of 2011. He played with Bowling Green during the summer and will be a junior at the school starting in the fall.

"I'm getting adjusted," said Behanan, who is playing for the Kentucky Blazers in the 16 & under division at the Kentucky HoopFest. "I had fun in the summer league getting to know all the players. Other times I was down here, I played but I we finally moved and I like it."

Behanan had family in the area and he said the move had been in the works for a few years. Now that he's in Western Kentucky, Behanan can't wait to get the season going.

"I am looking forward to it," he said. "It should be a lot of fun."

A strong, physical presence on the floor, Behanan averaged 20 points a game each of the past two seasons at Aiken. He has been committed for two years and said he's still getting interest from other schools but noted his commitment "is still good."

"I have a real good connection with (Cincinnati coach) Mick Cronin and his players and that's why I did it," Behanan said.
