Boy, Gillespie is really extending a lot of early offers. I guess there are pros and cons to doing that. If a kid accepts the offer and then close out a knee or has other problems, you could get stuck. I am not talking specifically about this kid but just in general.

It is a risk you have to take in recruiting top kids in basketball.......Offutt comes to mind.......offered early....two knee injuries......nothing against Offutt...just relating the issue.....

I wasn't just talking about injuries but possibly other issues which might arise over a 3-4 years span with a recruit. Okay back to the recruit's thread.

Davis is very interested in Kentucky and is excited about the offer. Kentucky, Indiana, Purdue, Ohio State and Xavier are recruiting him. Davis plans on attending Ohio State's elite camp this August.

Hoosiers Already Sold on Muncie's Davis...........Kentucky and Indiana have offered. Ohio State, Purdue, Syracuse and Tennessee have made contact. Davis averaged 7.4 points a game as a freshman.

Really I am not sure what the needs and holes on the team will be in 11' at the moment...But I like Teague the most right now and we are in a good position for him...Same with Behanon...

I would think we would look for PF/C type to go along with those two...

I agree, and when we do get them, they seem to be 1 and done, or projects...

Well, that makes three of us geniuses. However, the first time I saw one of Matta's teams play was when he had X in the Elite Eight and he really only had one big man. Of course, that big man was West and he was there for four years.

Purdue offers Central sophomore basketball scholarship

Central sophomore Jeremiah Davis may end up with scholarship offers from all over the country before his college basketball recruitment concludes. But should the Bearcat guard want to remain in the Hoosier State, he has a handful of options.

Already holding offers from in-state schools Ball State and Indiana University, Davis added an offer from Purdue University this week, receiving it from head coach Matt Painter via telephone.
Painter, a Muncie native and Delta High School graduate, had a chance to meet with Davis and his family when Davis went on an unofficial visit to the West Lafayette campus earlier in the summer.
Davis said on his visit to Purdue he met with the coaches, toured the campus and had a chance to play basketball with some of the Boilermaker players.
"I like Purdue a lot, the campus is great and I like Coach Painter," said Davis, who also holds an out-of-state offer from the University of Kentucky. "He's a really cool guy. He's from Muncie so that makes it even better."
According to Davis, he also is receiving interest from Arizona, Kansas, Nevada-Las Vegas, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Ohio State, Tennessee, West Virginia and Xavier.
