has an IU offer in hand.
visited purdue for the Wisconsin game along with devonte rivera-smith and ron patterson. patterson was offered, hammons not yet. big potential, but most coaches will probably wait to see how he progresses. IU is offering a lot of 2012 kids (i think they have 5+ offers out already) in an effort to improve quickly - they won't have a ton of offers to hand out for 2010 or 2011. |

"Project" sounds like the right word for this kid - the link from the Purdue fan says Hammons is averaging 5 points and 4 rebounds per game this season. I don't envy Coach Miller having to go out on trips like that in the middle of the season.

The kid is only a freshman and if other schools are starting to watch him if we didn't he might remember that come commitment time if he becomes a more developed player. I am sure that Miller has other things to do but they must see something and Hammonds.

no major other than IU has offered yet, and IU is taking fliers on guys right now. they offered cody zeller and at 6'7" he's got to grow 3-4 more inches to be offered by most others i'd think. he's not yet as good as either brother, and maybe he'll blossom late like tyler, but to offer now seems premature. |
