1. if you thought rotatting qb's was a nightmare for a football team. how about rotating coaches! woot!! much fun, not to mention mass confusion, for all!
2. your taking what will amount to many of these kids last chance to strap on pads and go hit and turning it into a soap opera. don't believe me? read what i quoated in my post above please.
3. by creating a disfunctional environment that is sure to get plenty of ratings (ie attention) you are teaching a child that the more disfunctional and inept you are while screaming the loudest the more attention you will receive.
4. a direct result of #3. this will promote individualism and destroy any sense of "team". these types of smut shows caters to the individual and the disfunction that results from a "me me me" mentality. which is the exact opposite lesson you should walk away from football with.
5. team cohesion will be severely lacking due to a lack of proper leadership, lack of control overall, and by players who will have little to no real oversight being more interested in being on tv than playing football. cerro will not have the power to keep them in line, one of the main themes is mr. butkus "putting him in his place". butkus will not do so because this is the exact drama that espin will seek to create to sell the show. sure he will yell at kids and "put them in their place" in front of a camera from time to time. but if he has control of the program... would it be needed in the first place? not likely and in which case you loose one of your main "drama" draws to the show now don't you? after their first loss this "team" will cease to exist for all practical purposes.
6. none of these kids are likely to be guys who are going to be offered by anyone at the next level. yet we are going to shove a camera in their face and lead them to beleive they are something special in order to create yet more drama in order to further sell the show. at the end of the day you have a "team" full of kids who honestly believe they are something special because of all the attention they are getting only to be setup for a very brutal let down. kids who might have spent more time studying and making it in the classroom because they had no light at the end of the tunnel on the football field won't because they think they are king [censored]. and why shouldn't they? espin is all about sticking a camera in their faces. surely there is a reason right? how many legit prospects have suicided themselves because of the media spotlight before ever stepping foot on a campus? now we're going to be putting the same pressure on a joe nobody who had no spotlight leading up to this? yeah... that should end reeeeaal well
you want disfunction? go watch springer. leave a bunch of kids who don't know any better out of your desire to mock someone who is worse off than you.
