If there was a football matchup similar to the basketball Big 10/ACC challeng, I say the Big 10 wins 8-2 saying Indiana did not play. The new lineup would be:

USC >= Ohio St.
Arizona St. < Michigan
Cal =< Iowa
Oregon State < Purdue
Oregon < Minnesota
UCLA =< Penn State
Arizona =< Wisconsin
Washington State < Michigan State
Stanford =< Northwestern
Washington > Illinois
I think when comparing conferences of different sizes, taking out the bottom teams from the bigger conference doesn't give a fair portrayal. It is probably more wise to take out teams from the middle. Basically, compare the B10's top 5 versus the Pac10's top 5 and the Big10's bottom 5 versus the Pac10's bottom 5 (so remove the Big10's #6 team, Penn State).

I also don't agree with the ranking of the Pac10 teams. Here are the media poll rankings from the Pac10 media day:
1. USC
2. Cal
3. Arizona State
4. Oregon
5. UCLA
6. Washington State
7. Oregon State
8. Arizona
9. Stanford
10. Washington

Thus the matchups would be:

USC versus tOSU
Cal versus Michigan
Arizona State versus Iowa
Oregon versus Purdue
UCLA versus Minnesota
Washington State versus Wisconsin
Oregon State versus Michigan State
Arizona versus Northwestern
Stanford versus Illinois
Washington versus Indiana
