The 1974 team sadly gets lost in the lore of "greatest evers" because of the two losses. That team was dominant beyond comprehension, and a garbage controversial loss at scuMSU cost them their place in the record books. The loss to USC in the Rose Bowl was pretty much a "ho-hum" deal. Last second TD and 2-pointer, who cares, it was like it didn't even matter after they lost to scuMSU. Player for player, I'd say they were at least as good as any team ever fielded here. I'm not gonna say they were the best, I don't have to, somebody already did.
