you know, the more that i look at the method i employed, the more i think it's a solid way of considering football powerhouses. think about it. osu, michigan, and tennessee are the only schools that are in the top 10 for each period you go back in time from today (at 5-year increments, starting with the last 5 seasons). right away, nebraska, one of the small handful of most storied programs, is left out. yes, it's harsh to discount so early nebraska, but such a system satisifies those of the what-have-you-done-for-me-lately mentality.
