Coldwater (9-0) vs. Delphos St. John's (8-1)
When: 7:30 p.m. Saturday
Where: Blue Jays Stadium, Delphos
Radio: WDOH-FM (107.1), WCSM-FM (96.7)
2004 result: Coldwater, 14-7
Outlook: Both teams have already clinched playoff spots, Coldwater in D-IV and St. John's in D-VI. Coldwater (7-0) goes for the outright MAC title, St. John's (6-1) a share. A St. John's win coupled with a Versailles defeat of Parkway makes a three-way title tie (St. John's lost to Versailles 15-6). Both teams have been outstanding on defense, allowing just five points per game. Coldwater averages 42 points and St. John's 31. St. John's racked up 506 yards in total offense against New Bremen last week, 500 of that rushing. Andrew DeWitt continues to lead the running attack with 3 rushing TDs versus the Cardinals. Coldwater RB/LB Ross Homan needs 162 yards reach 1,000 rushing. QB Steve Borger continues to guide the shotgun offense with efficiency, throwing for 1,485 yards, 21 TDs and just 1 INT on 130 attempts. OSU-bound Homan also has 118 tackles. With already a share of the title, Coldwater coach John Reed tied former St. Henry coach Tim Boeckman with 7 MAC titles (including 3 with Parkway).
