Clausen Wins Another Title
By Phil Kornblut
QB Jimmy Clausen (6-3 190) of Westlake Village, CA recently completed his junior season leading his team to a 13-0 record and a third straight state championship. Clausen finished the season with 2800 passing yards with 30 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. For his career he's passed for 7300 yards and 97 touchdowns with 12 interceptions. His touchdown figure is third best in state history. And keep in mind Clausen is only playing about half the time because most of his games are blowouts. Four schools, and possibly five, remain firmly in the competition for Clausen according to his coach Bill Redell. The four are USC, Notre Dame, Southern Cal and California. A possible fifth contender is Michigan. Redell said he's not sure when Clausen wants to make a decision but he thinks it will be before his senior season.
