They did get rid of their best catching prospect, Dioner Navarro, in the Randy Johnson trade in January of '05.

Their farm system was depleted the last few seasons. It's not like they had a slew of intriguing prospects to offer anyone. No way Phil Hughes is going anywhere. Eric Duncan is enticing, but is coming off a disappointing 2005.

It's hard though to examine minor leaguers and the projected impact they'll have in the league. It's weak right now, the MFY's realize this. If you look at their transactions from the past year, they're acquring far more prospects than what they're giving away.


EDIT: The psychoogical sting the Damon signing has inflicted has been greatly offset by the FA signing of Rudy Seanez.
