sears: "They did get rid of their best catching prospect, Dioner Navarro, in the Randy Johnson trade in January of '05."

The organization was down on Navarro after he struggled at Triple A. And, they never thought much of Admiral Halsey (the other rookie/prospect given up in the RJ deal), who's turned out to be a halfway decent pitcher. Neither would've made the big club in the Bronx had they held onto them.

"No way Phil Hughes is going anywhere."

Agreed. They won't even listen to offers for Hughes.

"Eric Duncan is enticing, but is coming off a disappointing 2005."

Duncan was rushed to Double A this past season. He should've started the year at High A Ball. One thing that's disturbs me about the Yanks' farm system recently is that it seems they rush kids more than they used to. Its probably to make them enticing trade bait rather then groom them for the big club, which is disturbing. But, with Cashman's new 'autonomy,' there has been no interference from Tampa this offseason, Stick Michael is back to having a prominent voice in the organization, and if those things stay constant, I'm sure we'll be back on track in no time.
