Yea I'm pretty worried about the defense. The one thing that is comforting is that alot of kids got playing time this year in some blow outs. We did lose all 7 of our back 7, but however Jenkins/Mitchell both started not to mention O'neal saw alot of time in certain situations as well. Now I'm by no way saying we're goin to come out and kick ass, but you have to remember we had a new defensive coordinator in 04' with Mark Snyder and a whole new defensive line.

Which brings me to my next point. The defensive line is absolutly not bare by any means. Pitcock is the best DT in our conference not to mention one of the best in the nation. Patterson has started as well and will most likely be moved inside this creates a pretty solid middle of the defense. You add those two monsters with Richardson (who has started before), Wilson, Gholston, and others and I think our D-line could be one of the best in the conference. Over all a very strong d-line IMO.

having a good D-line remember gives those young linebackers chances to make plays, and having a good d-line will also make up for any kind of miscommunication or blown coverage in the secondary as well ( provided we get a good pass rush).

I think we'll be OK to start the year but by the end of the year we mite see a faster back 7 then we had this year (especially in the secondary). We jus need to weather the storm in the beginning and hope to god our D-line can take some pressure off of everyone else.
