1) There are many instances when a recruit goes from a major priority to a smaller priority due to other signings, finds, or on-field performance. Wallace was a main priority all the way, but Bowman was not.
2) Why worry about OOS recruiting when tOSU is in the midst of a major HS football hotbed? JT is right about average when it comes to OOS considering the in-state talent.
3) Look at JT's results on the field and the answer is easy.

This reminds me of an excellent story I have shared via PM with other recruitniks, but I don't think I posted on the board.
'06 SC DT Adam Patterson has been a major recruit for many programs for 2 years now. I know a coach on that staff who told me a few stories regarding negative recruiting. Apparently, the scUM coaches spent most of their time trashing the other programs involved. They said tOSU would definitely go on probation and all of Clarett's allegations were 100% true. However, scUM was not the worst in terms of trashing programs. That would be Tennessee. Phil Fulmer told a story about Georgia coaches recruiting a SC HS player who is now on the Bengals roster. Apparently, he was basically a done deal to UT. The coaches made an in-home visit and were told by an uncle that he owned a used car lot up the road. He would be most appreciative if the staff would purchase some cars to help him out. Supposedly, the UT staff refused due to NCAA rules. The next week, the recruit committed to Georgia and Fulmer sent a coach down to the HS to speak with the kid's coach. As he passed the used car lot, it was completely empty.
