Dunbar wins OT battle at league power Hughes

By the Dayton Daily News
Dunbar went to overtime with host Cincinnati Hughes before pulling away for a 77-67 boys high school basketball win Friday night.

The win keeps the Wolverines (12-2) in the American Division lead of the Southwest Ohio Public League at 5-0 while Hughes (11-3) is 3-2, both losses to Dunbar.

The Wolves were up two points with 13 seconds left and Daequan Cook missed the front end of a one-and-one. Hughes' Lonnie Hayes took the ball and converted a runner in the lane with just three seconds left in regulation.

Cook scored eight of the wolverines' 14 OT points, including 6-for-6 free throws. He finished with 30 points and 13 rebounds. Aaron Pogue had 24 points and 17 rebounds.
