Well I was born in akron and was born and raised there for the first 16 years of my life. My father, and especially my grandpa were the reason's I became buckeye fans. The farthest thing I can remember is sittin near a fire at my grandparents house watching Ohio State play football.
I moved to Virginia after my freshman year in high school, and at first I was [censored]ed leaving the buckeye state. However, I will say moving was the best thing ever because I met some great people and more importantly realized how much Ohio State means to me.
I've played football, and dreamt football for as long as I can remember. However, out of my own stupidity I quit in the middle of my junior year. I tried to blame my coach (Although he could've handled my situation better) to make me feel my quitting was justified, but it was all my fault. I was out of shape, lazy, and thought because I was a starter the year before I was promised things my junior year. Now I worked hard that off-season but too much of my weight gained (30 pounds) was fat. Cuz of that I lost my speed, lost my already so so conditioning, and lost my playing days.
I've learned from this though, and I wish I could still play football somehow some way but that'll never happen. College football outside of D-1A doesn't make sense to me because the college athlete pays too much (time/money) while they should be study'n. Which is why since I quit football I've stepped up my love for
OSU even more now. I seriously live and breathe Ohio State, and as such will be attending school there starting in fall of 08'!
My all time favorite buckeye is hands down A.J Hawk. The man was so humble, never did anything but good for our school, and his play was remarkable. He also represents the buckeye play that most sticks out in my mind as well
I somehow managed to get tickets to the Ohio State Texas game in the shoe' back in 05 and A.J Hawk was able to corral the play I remember most. His interception where he crossed field and was rumbling near the goal line did something to me that I can't explain. When he caught it and started running with it I LOST IT. I started screaming at the top of my lungs so badly that I actually partially blacked out because I was light headed! hahahah That game was so hyped and once AJ caught that ball, and I heard the crowd go nuts with me I have never been/seen such a crazier invironment as I did on that play. AWESOME and if anyone can find that clip do me a favor... Turn up the volume (to whatever is tolerable, the louder the better) and listen to the crowd. First as he catches the ball but the crowd gets even louder when AJ gets hit and goes down. I still get chill bumps! GO BUCKS
