osu Wayne "Woody" Hayes (Official Thread)

There's a lot to say about Coach Hayes.

The Bucks won 5 National Championships under his watch: 1954, 1957, 1961, 1968, 1970. He coached from 1951-1978, and was 16:11:1 versus Michigan.

He was undefeated against: Arizona State, Baylor, Bowling Green, Butler, Cal, Dayton, Miami of Fl, Nebraska, OU, Oregon, Oregon St., SMU, Texas A&M, Washington St., Western Michigan, Western Reserve, and Wichita St..

He was 25:1:2 versus Wisconsin.

I was born across the street from his house on Cardiff Road. My parents say that he used to walk to work every day. He would walk up Cardiff and cross North Star. There used to be a dirt path there through the corn fields.

I always think a lot about how he would say that he was a man of average intelligence, but just worked a lot harder than everyone else. Woody was just a real inspiration all of the way around.
