Teams ride players like Peterson, Bush, Lynch for all they are worth. Would Clarett be put on the sidelines in those situations?
The #2 back in the nation does not get taken out in the redzone, especially for 'okay' redzone threats like TS and BS.
You felt booker splitting carries was a statement about his ability, but that logic does not apply here for pittman in the redzone?

Pittman was the clear #1
runningback but JT felt like he had other options down near the goaline which would be better for getting the ball into the endzone. We have other options down there, unlike Oklahoma, Cal, and Louisville. And have we already played next season? This is just speculation on my part. For all I know he could tear his ACL on the first play in the Northern Illinois game. I would say Troy is more than an "ok" option. He can run very well and throw which keeps defenses honest. Brandon obviously wasn't very good down there so JT stopped using him so much after the first few games. And Clarett was more of a power runner.
