Nation: "we need an emoticon of somebody crying for this board. it works well with yankee lovers who cant take a joke."

And you gotta get someone who can type better comebacks for you. That's all you got? Geez.

Who do you cheer for anyway, Nation?

Brutus654: "I don't think as many fans are jealous of the Yankees but hate them because of the unfair advatage they get. I mean imagine if it was the other way around and the Yankees had a budget and the Tribe could sign anyone they wanted."

People hated the Yankees from the 20's to the 60's before the Amateur Draft and when baseball was on a level playing field. People hate the Yankees because they win and for the acclaim they get, the money is just an excuse. Its the same way with the Cowboys, Notre Dame, etc.

And I got a stat for you: no team has ever won a World Series with a $100 million player. The Yankees won before they gave away big deals and had a home grown core. Since they had to replace Paul O'Neill, Tino, Brosius, etc. with high priced guys like Giambi and A-Rod, they haven't won squat.

Correct baseball decisions win Championships, not money. Money helps, but its not the be-all, end-all.
