I like to see that the staff is not bound by '"rankings" or "ratings". The "chip on the shoulder factor" is something I like versus a player who is 5 star and is having his arse waxed every way he turns.

To me, this is like buying into something (like an investment) that is undervalued and can only exceed expectations.

I never saw Kennedy play but his coach had some sparkling remarks about the kid which, of course, must be taken with a grain of salt since he's just doing his job and getting his kid a scholarship.

Down here in South Florida, it is not uncommon for there to be 3,4, or even 5 real studs on a team-- in different classes, etc, who all deserve to carry the mail via hand-offs or catches so stats are not all that telling. I'm not saying this is definitely the case with Kennedy but I'd willingly speculate that he has some teammates who are solid skill guys.

As a sidebar, I have a friend who coaches D-Line for Atlantic HS (Delray) and when they played St. Thomas Aquinas (Ft. Lauderdale) in the playoffs he said they had a 6'8" O-Lineman who they ran behind all day and the kid is pure muscle, 260, and was only a Sophmore this year and a complete monster. I'll keep a lookout.
