Not making excuses for them, but considering we had 2 rookies out there, you have to expect some growing pains. I'm sure everyone remembers Nugent and Houston in 2001. Also, we've been spoiled by kickers and 40+ yards is no gimme.

That said, I'd still like to see Buchanan get an offer and think he'd be a good candidate regardless of our current kickers' performance. He'll be 2 years behind Pettry, so a redshirt would leave him with 3 years of starting.
