Oh Aich... great report. Beanie's most impressive run was only for five yards, but oh, the glory in the going of it, hit at the line of scrimmage, the next thing you saw was a white jersey going up and back, like a drift hit by a snow plow. And he gets to the point of attack right now.
I was in 30 C... six more seats over and I've had been hugging the bell tower. No way I can see the Jumbo Board from there, but it's a good place to see the whole field. The two freshman backs, 20 and 21, looked very good, especially when the Bucks went to the nickle package. You would have thought that NIU would spot them and pick on them, but they handled their responsibilities quite well... the little underneath, dump off worked for NIU. But that means the deep throw was taken away.
I just about lost it when the Alumni band came out... they must have doubled the size of the current band and when they began the cadence in the ramp entry it was like thunder rolling through the 'shoe. I noted that the NIU band gave them a standing 'O' when they came off the field. Classy act by those kids.
The Sherrif was in action right next to where I tailgated. Saw them bring in 15 to 20 kids, including a few girls. Photo, booked, handcuffed with zip cords and placed in a van... I suspect that most were caught for underage drinking. I suspect that some of the folks being taken in were people who had given drinks to underage drinkers. It was sad to see them stand there, buckeye gear on, stadium in the backgreound, the excitement building by the minute, and to watch them put their hands behind their back, get tied up and be placed in the van.
