4 considered for Army Bowl
Compiled By The Inquirer Staff
Four area players have been nominated for consideration to play in the 2007 U.S. Army All-American Bowl, game officials announced yesterday.
They are: Shane Barrett, a linebacker from Archbishop Wood; Chris Whitney, a quarterback from St. Joseph's Prep; Derrick Morgan, a defensive end from Coatesville; and John Dempsey, a running back from Cardinal O'Hara.
The game will be played Jan. 6 at 1 p.m. in San Antonio's Alamodome and shown live on NBC10.
Four-hundred players are being considered for the matchup of East vs. West, and ultimately 80 will be selected and invited. Players chosen will be notified during the course of the football season.
The selection commitee is composed of experts at Scout.com, Tom Lemming of CSTV and officials at SportsLink.
