One question though, to those who saw the game, did the speed of the teams look about equal or was St. X faster?
skill posiiton wise, give the speed edge to Byrnes and Lakeland and DeLaSalle with the Spartans being the team with the most team speed at all positions. However, Moeller and X's lineman and other 'non-skill' people were bigger, stronger and faster, in my opinon.
Lakeland is a solid program and they represented very well. X is deserving of their lofty ranking and it was a phenomenal game.
Byrnes, however, was highly overrated. Moeller is a storied program, but many thought they'd finish third or fourth in the GCL this season and they are lacking in big playmakers...But, like most GCL teams of the past, they are big and they will punch you in the mouth. There is no question that the GCL rules D1 in SWO and Moeller, Elder and X have all won state titles.

what is really scary this year, however, is that I truly believe that Cincinnati Colerain is the best team in the city this season. Of course, the best team doesn't always survive to get to the title game because you have to run the guantlet to get out SWO. I am looking forward to another X v. Colerain showdown in the playoffs. Should be another 35,000 or more at PBS to watch.
