Friday night was, by far, the best crowd of the season. Still only about 2/3-3/4 capacity but noticeably more vocal and excitable. The ends were pretty full, but not packed like I would hope.
Last night was the worst of the year. My wife commented that just sitting in the arena was sucking the emotion out of her. I understand its hard to get excited two days after OSU/TSUN football, but come on folks! I think that I was one of about five people my section to stand up after Cook's dunk. Anemic at best.
I'm sure it will be better come January, when we have students + Oden. In the meantime........  |
It was a confirmed sell out on Friday, but the empty seats were people that had tickets and didnt come, or scalpers that bought them and then sold them in a package with football tickets and the people then people didnt use the tickets. Kinda pathetic that we had that many tickets that were sold and not used...
I agree last nites crowd was pretty bad, but there is no one orchestrating things, like at football where you have block O. I also agree that the next couple crowds are going to suck, b/c the students will all be home...
The crowd did show some life after Cook's dunk, but I think dead people stood up in their graves after that one. It is also a crying shame that that play was not on the Sportscenter top 10.
Also the friday game will be how the games after the first of the year will be...
