If you and DaddyPhatsacks are right, then the fracturing of the GOP is a sure thing. McCain, the only Republican I can see myself voting for right now, has tried to meet the social conservatives half way, but what I hear from Dr. Richard Land and others is that the next candidate, "will look a lot like the current President."

The Demos have their own fissures to mend. Could we see a primary election with essentially four distinct parties, two GOP and two Democrats? I see both parties becoming more and more polarized and 'tweeners, (aka 'moderates') like myself getting squeezed out of both.
