It would definitely be very hard for a QB to do both at the same time liek Dihard said but it would be a way to free up a scholarship if he played both at the same time.
Cedric Benson is not and Ricky Williams and was not on scholarship while at UT. The Dodgers for Benson and Phillies for Williams both payed for the player's tuitions allowing them to walk on the football team, thus freeing up schollies.
