The Gophers are in the mix for the state's top high school recruit, 6-foot-4, 200-pound Cretin-Derham Hall junior wideout Michael Floyd. Still, don't be surprised if Floyd attends a June camp at defending national champion Florida, which the other day became the latest big-time program to offer him a tender. Co-defensive coordinator for Florida is former Notre Dame assistant Greg Mattison, who recruited several Cretin-Derham Hall players to the Irish.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame coach Charlie Weiss and recruiting coordinator Rob Ianello will make a return trip to Cretin-Derham Hall next month.
