I don't know the official rules or the specifics of Greg's case, but if I was a betting man I would bet that any policy is paid for by the Oden's.

I have always thought that the policy was not paid for until the player actually signed a contract in his professional sport. (ie. Here is a 10 million dollar insurance policy for nothing, but if you make the league you have to pay us 20)
