I disagree, Mili...I don't know why we know that at all. There is no indication, at least to me, that Troy did NOT ask permission to go. In fact, I find it hard to believe that he wouldn't have...especially if he wanted to be reimbursed for the travel costs. I think the bigger issue is whether or not he missed a class...and either way, if he asked for (and obtained) approval to go, then he should clearly be held blameless for this whole "issue".
