Purdue's receivers can be shut down by aggressive DB play (e.g. scUM) - so if Youboty can't do the same (when man coverage is called) then maybe he's not where we think he is yet.
It's one thing to defend a receiver when there is no QB to deliver the ball (e.g. NCST, PSU), it'a another when you have perhaps the conference's best QB throwing strikes.
I like that he has stepped up and taken away E.J.'s starting spot, and I'm hoping that the Purdue game will be a sign of more good things to come in the future for Ashton's 'shutdown' ability.
