CANTON With playoff jockeying on the line, the last thing the Legends needed was a 6-foot blonde behind their bench. Canton Legends Head Coach Bobby Olive watched his team put 10 points on the scoreboard in the first half and play a brand of football that is best described as distracted.

Seated on the stage behind the Legends' bench was pop singer Brooke Hogan, daughter of Hulk Hogan. She sang the national anthem and wore 2-inch heels. She towered over Olive and several players.

In front of a quaint crowd of about 1,000 at Memorial Civic Center, the first-half buzz in the building was about Brooke.

Hogan left at halftime, and Canton found its game. The Legends beat Johnstown, 38-16, and improved to 8-4. It's the same record the team had at this point last year when they surged to win a league title.
