Considering none of us have spoken to him yet it's kind of tough to get a read from just a couple of updates (only one of which was done by and
OSU site). The fact that he is taking some unofficials in the Midwest this summer at least tells me that he is serious about the possibility. He sounds like he is pretty set on making officials to the five schools listed as well, which again means his interest must be legitimate. If he were just looking for vacations you can bet schools like Florida State, Florida, Alabama or Georgia would be on his list...those are great places to see a game with warm weather practically guaranteed.
