Trinity linebacker Sweat picks Ohio State

Trinity linebacker Andrew Sweat, one of the state's most highly recruited players, made a verbal commitment today to Ohio State. The 6-foot-2, 225-pound Sweat chose the Buckeyes over Notre Dame. The Associated Press Class AAA first-team all-state selection had 57 scholarship offers and reduced his finalists to Ohio State, Notre Dame, Pitt, Penn State, Michigan, and Florida.
As a junior, Sweat recorded 165 tackles with 91 solo takedowns and 13 tackles for a loss.
