For the 5th straight year, tOSU leads the Big Ten in the overall number of All-Academic student-athletes.

Buckeyes 146 honorees lead conference
COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Big Ten Conference announced its spring Academic All-Conference Team Thursday. Ohio State led the conference with 146 honorees.
The Buckeyes topped the Big Ten for the fifth-consecutive year with a total of 257 recipients during the academic year. The number is the second-highest of student-athletes ever named to the team. Last year, Ohio State broke the league record with 263 honorees. The 2004-05 season also was a banner year for the Buckeyes, as they broke the then-conference record with 260 student-athletes.
For the spring quarter, women's rowing led Ohio State with 20 student-athletes named to the Academic team. Men's track and field followed with 18 members. Men's lacrosse followed with a total of 17 student-athletes. Women's track and field also reached double digits with 13.
To be eligible for the selection, athletes must be letterwinners in at least their second year at their respective universities and maintain a grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher.
