Morgantown police seeking Gwaltney again

Former West Virginia University running back Jason Gwaltney has had another brush with the law.

The one-time top recruit from Long Island, who still lives in Morgantown, had a warrant issued for his arrest Tuesday on a domestic violence complaint.

A spokesman for the Morgantown Police Department said this morning that Gwaltney has not yet been arrested. The spokesman had no other information on the warrant.

This is Gwaltney's third brush with police this month.

On June 2, Gwaltney was stopped by the Monongalia County Sheriff's department in the early morning hours for going 36 mph in a 25 zone.

He was charged with speeding, underage consumption of alcohol and failure to produce an operator's license.

WVU safety Quinton Andrews, who started 13 of 14 games last season, also was arrested for obstructing an officer when he left his apartment to come to Gwaltney's aid.

On June 11, Gwaltney was arrested again on a warrant stemming from the initial incident. He was charged with driving without a valid license because his license had been suspended by the state of New York.

Gwaltney played in six games as a true freshman in 2005, rushing for 186 yards and three touchdown. He was suspended from the team for missing class and workouts after being injured.
