I am currently working on Southern Cal recruits for RecruitingPlanet.com, and the Trojans already have a verbal commitment from a 2009 OLB prospect by the name of Marquis Simmons. Simmons's stats are listed below:

Height: 6-foot-1
Weight: 215 lbs
Forty: 4.69 secs
Shuttle: 4.56 secs
Vertical: 30 inches
Bench reps: 17 @ 150 lbs

So you can see, the height, weight, speed, and vertical numbers are almost identical, and Whiting has the clear edge in strength. Of course, both have are reputed to be excellent football players for kids who have just finished their sophomore years in high school.

The point is, if Simmons has enough athleticism for USC, then Whiting certainly has enough athleticism for OSU."

The other thing about Jordan is that he has a 3.87 GPA, and rumor does have it that he does want to be a "BUCKEYE"
From the Courier-Journal, I took out the offense write up.

Rocks Eye Three-Peat... for the 3rd time.
Coach Bob Beatty doesn't care that his Trinity High School football team, the Class 4-A champion in 2005 and '06, is the preseason favorite to win the Class 6-A championship this year.

"Rankings are for the media and coffeehouses," he said Wednesday afternoon.

Trinity, which beat Ryle 41-7 in last year's 4-A final, lost a lot of talent but has simply reloaded as it guns for its sixth state championship in seven years.

The defense will be led by two of the top linebackers in the state - senior Wes Weitlauf and junior Jordan Whiting.

Trinity lost a lot in the secondary, but Beatty pointed out defensive backs Nick Van Wallaghen and Jordan Borders as two of the biggest surprises of preseason camp.

The Shamrocks will open their season Aug. 31, hosting 2006 AAA runner-up Bowling Green.
