In looking at ND's development of WR's over the past 20 years one must factor inthat they were essentially an option offense from 15 of those years 1986-2001 (Holtz & Davie). As everyone knows option offenses don't develop WR's.

ND only made the conversion to a pro style offense under Willingham in 2002. The guys that he recruited Samardzija, Stovall and McKnight threw up some pretty impressive numbers as upperclassmen.

BTW - "Rocket" Ismail probably would have been a 1st round pick as well but he signed with the CFL out of college.
