OSU fans seek token of Michigan's misery
Appalachian State gear in high demand

By 7:30 a.m. yesterday, a noticeably thick stack of orders rested on the fax machine at the Appalachian State University bookstore.
And the shop's four phone lines rang steadily all day.
Lorraine Childers and her crew were fielding requests from the school's newfound fans, including many Ohioans seeking T-shirts touting a North Carolina school that some had never heard of before the weekend.
"It's a wonderful type of busy," said Childers, the store's assistant director. "It's certainly a labor of love."
Appalachian State's stunning upset Saturday of then-No. 5 Michigan has hurled the school into the national spotlight -- and won the hearts of Ohio State fans.
Now, Buckeyes are clamoring for Mountaineer gear.
Within hours of the loss Saturday, OSU diehards -- never ones to miss an opportunity to rub defeat in the faces of Wolverine supporters -- snatched up Appalachian State shirts made and sold by at least one street vendor on High Street in Columbus.
