Healthy runner Kennedy is welcome sight for Zips
Saturday, September 08, 2007Elton AlexanderPlain Dealer Reporter
Akron tailback Dennis Kennedy already has left an impression with Ohio State fans on the Internet. Today, he at last will have his chance to leave an impression at Ohio Stadium.
The native of Florida was a close friend of former Buckeyes Nate Salley and Chris Gamble. The Buckeyes coveted him for their 2004 class, but with less than 1,000-yard credentials, Kennedy was not a national recruit. He signed a letter of intent with the Buckeyes, but Ohio State later pulled his scholarship.
Some Buckeyes fans already know the story.
The 18-page forum thread on www.BuckeyePlanet.com chronicles -- through the eyes of fans -- Kennedy's recruitment by the Buckeyes, a tough personal senior high school season, the loss of his promised OSU scholarship, and his ultimate decision to go to Akron. It also includes tidbits on Kennedy's Akron playing career to date.
