Buckeye connection: Kelly Pavlik will wear scarlet and gray boxing trunks modeled after the Ohio State football pants. The trunks will be gray with a red and white stripe down the side and a block "O" on the front leg. Pavlik is a big Buckeye fan, but needed to get permission from the university to wear the trunks. It wasn't difficult ? OSU coach Jim Tressel is a fan. "He gave us his blessing," said Pavlik's father Michael. Pavlik will also wear a scarlet and gray robe. Tressel, the longtime YSU coach, plans to tell the team about Pavlik's outfit before OSU's game with Minnesota tonight. Notre Dame's football team, meanwhile, will watch the fight on TV. When someone asked Kelly why the Irish players were watching, he smiled and said, "So they can try and learn how to win," he said. (Notre Dame is 0-4.)
