First of all, if you've never been to a Big Ten away game, expect a lot of abuse. Especially a night game at Purdue after 10 hours of alcohol flow into everyone. I was just there this weekend and was already hearing it about the buckeye game. They feel this year could be their revenge for the 2002 fourth down TD Krenzel threw. However, the abuse is usually in good fun, unlike Penn State.
I would definitely go to Harry's Chocolate Shop, it's an old speakeasy that's a local favorite (you'll see a lot of shirts that say "go ugly early" which according to legend was the password to get in during prohibition). I'm also a fan of Jake's and there are some good resturants. As for Purdue itself, the campus is huge. We park in the RV lot on west campus and it takes about 20-30 mins to walk to the stadium, then an additional 20-30 from stadium to bar area, then another 20-30 back to RV.
