You sound like me when I watched Josh Jenkins...sometimes when I watch these films, something sticks to me (good or bad) and I can't shake it (good or bad). Let me tell you my moment of "sticking" with Mike Adams...one of the films, not exactly sure which...he has a kick slide that is so fluid, so athletic, and so dang quick that I about jumped out of my chair. About 4 years ago, we had a volunteer coach with us...guy played for the Baltimore Ravens and would likely still be playing if his legs hadn't given out. Anyway, I watched him trying to teach our OL the kick slide...even with broken down legs, it was amazing to watch this monstrous 6'8" 320+ man glide with such grace. Then I watched our kids...athletes who I watch do any dunk imaginable in the gym (two of whom are playing college ball now) fall all over themselves trying to complete the same move.

When I saw Mike Adams move...I had my moment. Then I watched his explosiveness, his hand work, his extension on shooting hands, his leverage, and the way knees buckled when he blasted chest plates. I disagree about the mean streak...that is one of the things I loved.

As far as some of the exclamations in this thread...I agree with you. Comparison to OPace is sacrilege, starting next season is a stretch for any freshman OL, and the position of #1 OL in the country is tough to call...especially when you watch some of the guys you listed. However, as a disclaimer, unless the kid is coming from Ohio, Texas, Cali, or Florida...I want to know about the competition.

Mike Adams might not be the top OL in the nation...maybe not even the top OT. However, that's the beauty of these boards...we all have our own "moments"

To me, Adams is a 5-star, Brewster is a 5-star, Shugarts is a 4, Jenkins is a 4, and Long is a 4.
It don't get any better than this...Give yourself a GPA...

The only slight difference in opinion I have is that I have Shugarts as a 5 star...But really that is like splittling hairs, and for a different thread...
