That is what I don't understand...how can one recruiting service have Big Mike ranked as a top 15 player (see latest post by
Buckskin86 http://www.buckeyeplanet.com/forum/football-recruiting/35113-2008-rivals-scout-etc-national-regional-rankings-37.html#post955749) and another service (Rivals) completely dog him almost going out of their way to do so?
When I saw Adams live, I didn't have the ability of rewinding film and I didn't have an endzone view...but from my vantage, and to grad's point, his pass blocking is clearly at another level when compared to the average high school senior.
Most high school linemen have poor pass blocking technique, either by lunging out as if they are drive blocking, or not using their hands/arms properly (i.e. blocking with their forearms rather than their HANDS), or not knowing how to properly shove the DL and recoil for him again, or not having great footwork.
Granted, from my vantage, it was hard to see the kickslide, but when I saw Adams live, I was impressed with his footwork, desire to finish the play, and pass blocking skills. I see where Cty4 is coming from on the robotic comment - I never thought that when I was watching Adams, but after the fact, that comment makes a little sense.
Regardless, I think Adams is the best OL prospect in this state and one of the top 5 OTs in the country (if you consider Brewster a center/guard) - where he falls within those top 5 is subject to the eye of the beholder.
