Evan, your 'daisy-chain' is exceptional. You probably need to get a life, but....it's great. thanks. You could probably do one so that the Buckeyes beat themselves, and that would add creedence to our being #1.

Buckeye86, you are 'dead-nuts' on. Ever since the days of Ron Powlus, Notre Dame coaches have not been able to 'coach up' their players. Gone are the days when ND comes into a state and says, 'you're the #1 running back in the state of (insert here)? We'll take you.' and gather up all of the best players. Now, you have to go for the legacies and the bloodlines and hope they get better. Brady Quinn was thrown into the fire, and came out pretty darn well, but there's many of the ND recruits that regressed, and one year, Hamstead State had TWO players drafted before the first Domer....(maybe Humboldt, but you get the picture).

On the other hand, coaches are teachers first and foremost. They need to have the concept, but then they need to impart to their kids. If they cannot do that, then they (the team and the kids) suffer. Buckeye 86, you must be a teacher because you recognize those factoids.

Look at Tress & Co. Malcomb Jenkins 2 or 3*, now will be first or second CB drafted. Laurinaitis was a 2 or 3* also, same thing. Sometimes it's the system, most of the time it's the kids guts, desire, and intelligence, plus the patient teaching of the coaches. OSU has that in spades. Look at women's basketball, men's basketball, and of course football (baseball also). Good teaching (and results) brings in a better caliber of athlete, but if you notice, some of the 4 & 5* players are sitting behind the 2 & 3*. So, yeah, the * system is not all that great also......

Sorry for the Monday morning rant, but hey, the Big Ten doesn't need Notre Dame as much as it needs us, and I don't want to see us dilute our conference any more than it is. Bring on the bowls, and by golly, let's have the B10 teams kick some SEC/ACC/Big 12 booty!
