BEREA ? With Hank Fraley playing well at center and their offense humming, the Browns appear more inclined than ever not to rush LeCharles Bentley back into action.
"We're going to try to do the best thing for the kid and us," coach Romeo Crennel said. "Hank is playing good. Good enough to be a starter."
Bentley missed all of last season after tearing a patellar tendon on the second day of training camp. He hoped to be ready for the start of this season, but the Browns placed him on the physically unable to perform list. They have until Nov. 6 to decide their next move with him.
"He's doing everything he can," Crennel said. "He really wants to play for the Browns, but he's not totally ready to be out there yet. He needs a little more time."
