Sorry it's taken me so long to post.
PSU's stadium is impressive. It looks like a giant erector set in the middle of nowhere. Their student section was fired up, and the crowd (over 90% PSU) was very loud, at least until it was 17-7. The entire stadium was standing for most of the game - when it got to 24-7 most of the non-student section sat down, and at 27-10 the exodus started. The Buckeye section remained standing the whole game, except for timeouts and halftime.
What a performance by the offense! To never punt against one of the better defenses in the country, in that hostile environment, spoke volumes about the poise and skill of tOSU.
It was my first trip to Happy Valley, and was the most fun I've ever had during a road game (previous was the ND bowl game). Sitting in the Buckeye section makes all of the difference; we were able to constantly high-five everybody within a couple rows because of so many big plays.
It was a privilege to be sitting in the stands and have the team sing Carmen Ohio to our section without the band to carry the tune.
Listening to PSU talk radio after the game was a guilty pleasure. There were long-term season ticket holders talking about accepting that PSU was now a mediocre program.
It was close to a 1200-mile round trip, but it was worth every penny of gas and tolls, and I had a huge grin on my face the whole ride home.
I've read this entire thread and seen the frat video, but I witnessed nothing like that, and talked to several friendly PSU fans. Every large crowd can have a few drunks give them a bad name, especially for a night game.
