Illinois gave Ohio State its biggest scare of the 2006 regular season, but the Buckeyes pulled out a 17-10 win on the road. Next Saturday, Illinois comes to Columbus for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff at Ohio Stadium.
The Illini have been relying on Rashard Mendenhall, who entered the weekend as the Big Ten's second-leading rusher, averaging 123 yards per game. But they'll have to get more from their passing game to move the ball against Ohio State. Last in the conference in passing before Saturday night's visit to Minnesota, with just seven passing touchdowns in nine games, Illinois quarterback Juice Williams came out and threw two first-quarter touchdowns against the Gophers.
