Good friend of mine's dad was the dean of a college in Georgia and he said sometimes the student would have a good GPA but a horrible SAT/ACT score, so sometimes the GPA was misleading. I think the base of the speculation was coming from uncertainty on an official offer though. Thanks.

That problem is far from being a Georgia issue...more like
(insert any state's name here) problem. A 3.3 GPA gives plenty of wiggle room with a test score.
Let's leave the speculation to the Rumor Mill next time...
