Many of us have family ties in Athens, Logan, and surrounding areas and respect Ohio University. But that said, we're talking about a team that lags
behind four-loss Youngstown State in the Sagarins. Ohio U will get worse, not better, with a resurgent Cincinnati competing for recruits.
While it may seem to make sense financially in the short-term to schedule in-state teams like these guys, it hurts our SOS and poll rankings when we put more than one of these easy games on the schedule. Again, with the greatest of respect, I think this was a real mistake.
