I am somewhat baffled. IU has 7 scholarship players coming in this year and 4 verbals for next year. I don't know how they're going to find room for him with the sanctions that they have put on themselves plus what the NCAA might bring.

Maybe before NCAA sanctions but with 11 guys coming in the next two years and is self-imposed one or two scholarships, I don't see where the wind is coming from. Well, that's their problem and they won't be back into the echelon of the Big 10 until probably 2011 is they are lucky.

VanTreese talks rebuilding
Indianapolis Lawrence North standout Stephan Van Treese said he will pick between five schools - Indiana, Louisville, Ohio State, UCLA and Kansas.
But after watching Van Treese play this week and talking to him several times, I get the feeling he's going to have a tough time making a final decision. I would say Indiana, Kansas and UCLA will make the final cut if he narrows down the list soon.
One school the 6-foot-9, 230-pound Van Treese talked about several times was Indiana.
New Indiana coach Tom Crean had a chance to check him out last weekend at the adidas Ittakes5ive Classic in Cincinnati, while new assistant coach Tim Buckley has seen him a number of times in the past week.
Van Treese said it would be nice to try and help the Hoosiers get back to elite status after the recent debacles withing the program.

The author has us and LVL out when/if he were to trim to 3. Truthfully, with his lack of production and likely need to be brought along sowly, I am kind of glad as I want a more impactful insider for the 09 class.
